Hour = sâ 'at
Half = nim
Minute = da-ghi-ghe
Quarter = rob'
Order of Time:
Time up to the half hour is given by adding the minutes to the last hour, using (and) pronounced 'o' :
Hour – Number – Connective (and - pronounced ‘o’) - Number of Minutes – Minute
Eg: 1:05 = sâ 'at - e - yek - o - panj – daghighe
2:15 = sâ 'at – e – do – o – rob'
Time on the half hour is expressed: 7:30 = sâ at – e – haft –o- nim
Time after the half hour is given by using به 'beh' (to) followed by the next hour as in English.
Number of Minutes – Minutes – to (=beh) –Hour
Eg: 3:52 is 8 - minutes - to - 4 = hasht – daghighe – beh – chah'âr
5.45 is Quarter to 6 = yek rob' – beh - shish
